We, The Urban Farm, will be sending weekly emails updating you on your CSA shares each week. We will also email you about current happenings on our farm and volunteer opportunities if you wish to roll up your sleeves and lend a helping hand on the farm. ABOUT TUF’s GROWING PRACTICES

TUF uses sustainable and regenerative farming practices which:

• Promote biodiversity and thriving ecosystems

• Provide local, fresh, nutritious and organically grown food (not certified organic due to cost of certification and small production site)

• Protect and improve our environment for future generations

• Promotes food equity and sovereignty

Some of our sustainable practices include:

• We grow a variety of diverse crops including heritage varieties

• We implement a seed library and have started saving our seeds to promote food justice

• We use farming techniques such as crop rotation, contour tillage, and pasture-based livestock rotation that protect the soil

• We integrate the use of alternative agriculture practices such as hydroponics to reduce inputs and ensure food security

• We do not use toxic chemical pesticides, synthetic fertilizers or GMO seeds

• We do not use tilling practices that erode the soil, or negatively impact water quality 

• We strive to be a closed loop system by recycling our own farm waste to create garden compost and amendments through worm composting.

REFUND POLICY

All payments are non-refundable beyond the first week of the season.

You may transfer your CSA in extenuating circumstances. If you are unable to continue receive/pick-up your share under extenuating circumstances (i.e. you move to another city) you will then be able to transfer this agreement to someone else on your behalf. Please contact our communications, Grace@theurbanfarm.org, with details on when you will be transferring, who this new member will be, and if you will be returning.

Unplanned Absence: If you miss a CSA distribution day due to illness or other extenuating circumstance, it can be arrange for you to pick up the next day, or choose to donate your share to another family.

Planned Absence: We ask that you please email TUF to let us know if you will be going out of town and will be missing your pick-up for one or more weeks. If you can also choose to donate your share the weeks you will be gone or pass your shares along to a family member or friend. In any case, please email us ahead of time so we can plan accordingly.

If TUF does not receive any communication from you regarding absences/change in pick-up/being out of town ect. your CSA will be donated at the end of the distribution day.
