ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE TIMES:
You may arrive at class 10 minutes before start time. Instructors will be preparing for class and cannot supervise children prior to that time. Likewise, please pick up riders promptly at the end of class.

CANCELLATIONS:
Classes will only be cancelled in the event of dangerous weather. In cold weather, that is temperatures below 20 degrees and in hot weather, temperatures over 100 degrees one hour before class. If you have doubts regarding weather, please contact Donna at 720-810-5475 or your child’s instructor. Make-up classes will be scheduled in the event TUF cancels class. Make-up classes are not provided for other reasons such as illness or multiple classes missed due to family decisions. There will be no refunds.

GUESTS:
You are welcome to bring guests to see your child ride. However, you must also bring a signed waiver for all guests. Only a child’s parent or legal guardian may sign their waiver. Waivers are downloadable from our website. You must stay with your guests at all times.

DOGS:
ONLY Farm staff dogs and dogs enrolled into 4-H are allowed on The Farm.

WEATHER:
If the weather gets below 20 degrees or above 100 degrees, that class will likely be cancelled.

APPLICATIONS:
Participating in classes at The Urban Farm, Embracing Horses, require submitting the following forms: 4-H Registration forms are due at the first class. 4-H membership is required of all participants. Please bring completed forms and a check payable to ADCO4H for the annual dues, your completed 4-H application and class enrollment form.

APPROPRIATE RIDING CLOTHES:
Riders should come to class dressed appropriately in: long pants (no shorts please), boots or shoes with a flat sole and a heel (no tennis shoes, hiking boots, or snow boots). Wear layers and gloves (thin knit gloves are preferable for riding) to be prepared for colder temperatures as the sun goes down.

HELMETS:
All students must provide their own SEI approved riding helmet. No other type of helmet is allowed. We strongly recommend that helmets be purchased locally from a tack store so that it can be properly fitted to your child’s head. Do not purchase used helmets--the lifetime warranty will not apply and you may not be able to tell that the helmet safety has been compromised.

:: The Urban Farm has a limited supply of helmets for use (first come first served). You can also buy helmets, riding pants (chaps), and other gear, at one of our online preferred affiliates:
